I'm new to Adobe so I'm still learning the ropes of the program. I just recently downloaded the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 and I'm just starting to learn how to use Indesign.
I want to make ebooks from files that I already have. What format should the files be in so that Indesign would allow me to use that and edit it in the program? I currently have the files in pdf format and word document. I also have some ebooks already that I would like to edit in Indesign. How can I do this?
The command to import content is File > Place...
Word files will be editable in ID after placing, PDF will not (there is a commercial plugin, PDF2ID I think, that will allow you to open PDF files as editable docs). As far as I know you cannot import an ebook.
This is far from a simple, click a button process. You will want to get som basic training. Bob will be along with a code for a 7-day trial at Lynda.com and for Sandee Cohen's book at Amazon...
Someone call me?
