Do you speak English? I can tell from the machine translation that you have a font installation problem, but I can't tell exactly what it is.
i'm having troubles to install / import two fonts into InDesing. When i open a InDesign document, there is an error "Missing fonts". I can't find the fonts in de drop-down list.
I copied the fonts into the c:\windows\fonts folder and into the c:\program files\indesing\fonts.
How can i activate / install new fonts in InDesing?
Can you check if the fonts are working for InDesign CS4 or CS5?
I only have InDesign CS 5.5...
When you look at the fonts in Explorer, what is the file size? You say you "copied the fonts" into the two locations. That should work for the ID fonts folder, but you must "install" a new font from the Fonts floder File menu to load it into the Windows Fonts folder.
Your reference certainly seems to indicate you can drag fonts into the folder. The German interface is different. What's under the Neu > submenu?
And did you check the file size? Also, make sure you scroll through the list in ID. I would expect those two fonts to be sorted under Franklin Gothic, not ITC, but you never know. You may still get a missing font warning, too, if the version or type is different from the one used originally, and you would need to use Find Font to replace withthe new version.
If that screen grab was your actual Windows/Fonts subfolder, then it may have lost its magic properties.
Try TweakUI from Microsoft (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp), it should have a "Repair Fonts Folder" option.
hi peter and Jongware
i was out of the office till today...
The TweakUI Tool worked! I'm having the "Install Font" option now. When i open Winword the Font "ITC Franklin Gothic Book" is listed, BUT the font "ITC Franklin Gothic Book Bold" isn't listed.
Fontsname: ITC Franklin Gothic Book Bold
I couldn't check InDesign yet, because is installed at a customers pc. I think i would work, because it works in Winword.
I already reinstalled the font, but it didn't work...
Do you have any ideas what happend with the " ITC Franklin Gothic Book Bold" font?
I wouldn't expect to see the bold version listed in Word. Pressing the bold buton would normally switch to the correct bold font, if one exists. Not the case in ID, though. There you must specifically invoke the Bold version from the font style dropdown.
thanx, the problem is fixed! the solution with TweakUI worked.
after restore fonts i had the option to install the font.
thanx for your help
