    What is Flash for?

      What is Flash actually for?

I am not a novice. I have used Flash since version 1. I built up my original business based on Flash only websites. It was a fantastic piece of software. When Generator came along the business grew and was valued in 2002 at over 10 million. With the inclusion of support for video Flash shot off in another direction, the player became a target and is still so full of holes that Apple no longer wants to play… or is that just inter corporate politics?

AIR that’s all it is hot for some but will only ever be a transitional technology.

Nothing is static and I now find myself wondering if I even want to use Flash anymore. AS3 was supposed to open up the programming and for some that might be true but I now have to employ someone to do things I could once easily do for myself. Adobe seem aware of this an introduced a moron ready solution but that’s not for me either. I don’t make banners or adverts but feature rich, innovative websites.

Flash before it was Flash was originally a vector animation programme and did the job extremely well. I think that’s what I’m looking for, something that will output html5 vector animation directly. (Don’t even think of mentioning Wallaby).
