1. Re: Create highlight project from multiple projects
Bill Hunt Jun 9, 2011 6:23 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Howard,
I would survey your Projects, and determine what the bulk was, in terms of their specs.
I would also ask how I needed to deliver the final Demo Reel, BD, DVD-Video, streaming media from a server, and factor that in, as you will be Exporting from the previous Projects.
Then, I would look into Exporting form those Projects to a lossless CODEC, for later use. Lagarith and UT would be good choices. The closer that you can come with the same sizes, FPS, etc., the easier it will be to work with, though PrPro does allow you to have different Sequences in a Project.
The DVD footage will obviously be MPEG-2, SD footage, so if you have a lot of HD footage, you need to determine how best to handle that.
For SD to HD, I have had good results from Red Giant's Magic Bullet Instant HD. Boris has a similar utiltiy, but I have not used it.
If you have HD, that you need to take to SD for final editing, and delivery, then I'd look to Jeff Bellune's HD to SD TUTORIAL for a possible workflow.
As you will be Exporting from existing Projects, you have more power, than an editor being handed a bunch of different formats.
Good luck,
Hunt

2. Re: Create highlight project from multiple projects
Howard Hoffman Jun 9, 2011 7:43 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)For existing projects, they are AVCHD 1080i video; for DVD, they are a mixture of 4:3 and 16:9 (720x480).
The deliverable is a Blu-ray disc with 1080i.
For existing projects, is it possible to a) create a sequence of wanted clips in each project and b) create new project to import these clips and sequences from multiple projects?
Thanks!
