A .jpg image placed from Photoshop has terrible looking text - degraded. I've tried saving as .eps file and all the anti aliasing settings but to no avail. Jpg is 150 ppi going to a frame the size of an iPad display. I must be doing something obviously wrong - if anyone can put me right?....
Save as PDF from Photoshop and place that.
There are only two file formats that retaing vector text, vector masks and vector shapes from Photoshop.
EPS and PDF.
PDF is the preferred format as it's the successor of EPS.
An EPS will retain the vectors but if you open that again Photoshop rasterises the file, losing the vectors.
Opening a saved PDF from Photoshop in Photoshop it can retain the layers, including type layers, vector shapes and vector masks. It's much more versatile than an EPS file, where most computers can open a PDF to view in Acrobat reader, not everyone can open an EPS to view.
There are many other plusses to a PDF over an EPS.
