I'm using the loadMovie command to load an external swf (a brief tutorial) into the parent swf. The parent swf is an interactive exercise with several answer buttons. The user can click a button to open and close the turorial on top of the exercise.
If the user clicks at random on the tutorial, they can accidentally click the answer buttons in the parent swf below and hear the correct and incorrect sound cues. When they close the tutorial, they see that answers have been given and there's a score when they didn't intentionally give any answers.
How would I prevent clicks on the external swf from registering on the parent swf? Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.
add a stage covering rectangle to the lowest layer of your external swf and make sure the stage sizes of the loading and loaded swf are the same. convert that shape to a movieclip and assign an instance name (eg, bg_mc). in the actions panel, you can use:
Thank you, kglad! That worked beautifully with the alpha set at 100%.
