I created an editable region in my template's <head> section so I can add a canonical link and redirect link to each of many pages that are based on the template. Then I stupidly (I think) added some dummy text to make adding the links easier, and saved it to each file, then uploaded them. Later, I realized that all my pages have this dummy text in it, which is wrong, of course.
So I deleted the dummy text in the template, and saved, but nothing happened. All the local files still have that dummy text. So I can't get rid of it in my remote pages. Why isn't my deletion of the dummy text in the editable region sticking?
Changing text or content in editable regions of a template does not change in the child pages that have already been created. Best suggestion would be to copy the dummy text, use find and replace to remove it from all the files ( use Search Entire Local Site) then upload the newly edited pages to the server.
And a missing step: remove that content from the template's editable region, otherwise you will continue to have it appear in your newly created child pages.
