we currently have an issue with Fireworks 8 after an installation via Group Policy of Macromedia Studio 8. The other products, Dreamweaver, Flash installed fine.
We had no problems with the install in the classrooms, the problem is when a student logs onto the local machine and selects Fireworks 8, it starts installing and fails because they are not admin. If a administrator logs in, the program runs as if it is already installed and takes you into the Fireworks 8 welcome screen.
The software was installed to the local machine.
The machine is on a domain.
The permissions the user has are the same as for the working macromedia studio products installed at the same time.
Any help/advice would be appreciated,
Fireworks 8 is an old version. Which operating system do you have it installed on?
We are running it on XP Pro Sp3.
Do you have the system set up so that software like Fireworks can write to the registry and C drive by a user rather than by an administrator only?
