I am new to this forum.
As the title says, a user in my company received the error "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found." when trying to open PDF files in the network drive. I can assure you that it's not network restriction or whatever issues related to network because other users can open it just fine. Note that the user can open the files when they get saved into local computer.
I have been googling about this topic for weeks and have tried numbers of things such as cleared up the registry, temporary folder, and even reinstalled the Adobe Reader, but none helped. I saw one posting in somewhere in this forum saying that there are some bugs with Adobe Reader X, but I am not sure this is the bugs that they referred to.
I decided to post it up here in hope that someone have an answer or somewhat like an answer.
I really appreciate it if anyone knows the answer for it.
It looks like nobody has an answer for this despite of the 80 something views!
And here i thought Adobe admin would be monitoring the forum, but surprisingly, they don't even have the answer for this!!!
I am getting the same error and have tried similar efforts to no avail.
If I use Foxit I can open the same pdf file that I can't open with Adobe X!
If I move the file that I can't open on the network drive to the desktop it opens. User rights and permissions are correct.
I can open the file as the domain administrator but not as the user (multiple users are having this problem).
Adobe had be enter a case for it. When I called back to provide this information, I was told that because Acrobat Reader is free, I have to deal with the Forum..
Any help out there??
