It depends on what kind of text field you are using, but working under the assumption that you are using a #text member, you would use the member's selection property:

I read the link, and added the '_movie.selEnd' code, but I got an error.
I tied to set the selEnd via '_movie.selEnd = sprite(v).member.char.Count', but I got an 'Operator Expected' error.
To be more clear, I want to fix the following;
'$BigDaddy' versus 'BigDaddy$'
where $ equals the cursor. I need the cursor to be behind my text string- not in front of it.

The link I posted was not about selEnd (which is not the thing you are looking for, and you are using it wrong anyway). It is about the term "selection". You set it to a list where the 1st item in the list is the place where the selection begins, and the 2nd item is where the selection ends. If you have a #text member which has the text "BigDaddy", then you would use the following to move the cursor the the end, after the y:
