A couple of master page-related questions

    graph22 Level 1

      Hi,

      Hope you're doing well.

1.) What is a possible reason why one item on a master page (one horizontal line) would be applied to every page except one? Its on the master page and I applied it to all of the pages it should be applied to (incl the one it's missing from.) What would be the remedy for that?

2.) When you add a new item to the master page after you've been working with one for awhile, is there a way to just apply that item to all the master pages and not the others? (So ie so you're not re-applying the items that have already been overridden for a particular page.)

Thanks very much for your help!

          1) Is there something in front of it that might be hiding it on the document page? Master objects are at the back of the stacking order, behind ALL document page objects, on any given layer. To bring a master item in front of an object on the document page it must be placed on a layer higher in the stack.

          2) By definintion, when you add an object to a master page, it is going to appear on any page to which that master is applied. If you don't re-apply the master, simply add an object to it, you won't reinstate any master objects you've overridden on the document page.

I feel compelled to add that you need to have a REALLY good reason to put anything on the master page if you are then going to override it. 99% of the ime, if you override a master object it shouldn't have been on the master page at all.
