    Setting the default page view

    jimbir Level 1

I am using Adobe Reader X on a Windows 7 laptop. I'd like to know how to get the program to always show the pages of any PDF file always zoomed to "fit width". I've set this in the page display properties screen but it doesn't work.

      Thanks Jim B

Adobe Reader cannot configure an "Initial View" for PDFs.  You'd need Acrobat for that.

          Be well...

Hi, Here are the settings to get best zoom. CtDave said "Adobe Reader cannot configure an "Initial View" for PDFs.  You'd need Acrobat for that." - I dont know why you say this is not possible?

            I have Win/XP sp3 Adobe Reader X v10.1

            Works well for me.

Note: A PDF from the web that has FastWebView set to "Yes" does not zoom automatically.

Workaround: To get "Fit Visible" for these documents just hit "Ctrl-3"

If anyone can explain why AdobeReader does not zoom always I should be interested to hear of a fix. It is annoying...
