1. Re: mirror effect
Noel Carboni Jun 17, 2011 10:16 AM (in response to kit02)Regarding "faking" a reflection with Photoshop...
That particular image looks like just a second copy of the whole iPhone duplicated and partially transparent, partially hidden behind the main image.
This particular phone graphic is symmetric, bottom to top, so that's easily doable. It would be a lot less simple with an object that's not symmetric, though with anything that's got relatively flat sides, you could copy each part of the subject that runs along a given plane, flip it, then Edit - Transform - Skew so that it's distorted the right amount.
Another thread on the subject... Note the fade-away transparency of the reflection adding an additional bit of realism.

If you want true 3D perfection, you might investigate the 3D tools of Photoshop Extended.

2. Re: mirror effect
kit02 Jun 17, 2011 11:26 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)yes now looking at it you are right, this is a pretty simple effect. I guess I gave a bad example I'm talking about the more complex angles.
Thanks!
