Bringing in 30 fps .Avi quicktime file for editing

    arda21

I am starting my Adobe Premiere days after years falling out of video editing, I want to start editing a little video for my first youtube video posting.

      The original video I shot with a little digital camera has the natural properties of;

      File Path: G:\EDIT CLIPS\MVI_2808.AVI
      Type: QuickTime Movie
      File Size: 631.5 MB
      Image Size: 640 x 480
      Pixel Depth: 24
      Frame Rate: 30.00
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 16 bit - Mono
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Mono
      Total Duration: 00:05:39:06
Average Data Rate: 1.9 MB / second
      Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

When I start a new project, Premiere CS5 asks for project settings, howeever, I couldn't find a setting for frame rate of 30, and an avi

project setting at all, the closest I thought was DV NTSC 29.97fps, Now I thought there was a way to edit these attributes individually including the fps after selecting a sequence setting, however I can't seem to change the fps option specially.

I did try just importing the file as it is in NTSC 29.97 setting, but after I brought into sequence the playback was very jerky about 20 seconds into, is it because the sequence dropping frames as I play it?

I am just curious what is the best way to start my experience, with these video files I have from my little Canon Digital camera videos,

I would appreciate any input / info

      Thank you for your time
