I have installed Adobe Reader X, and when I try to open a pdf Windows media player opens instead and i cannot view the document. Any ideas? Thanks
Yes. Right click on the icon of a file you are certain is a PDF, choose Properties. At the right of Opens with, Choose Reader, and check the Use always with this type of file box.
Text may be slightly different because my OS is in Spanish.
Thank you for replying however, since I cannot
save a pdf to my hard drive i have nothing to click
Well, if you cannot save, copy or drag any PDF file to your HD, that's another kind of problem that I do not understand. Can you save, copy or drag other types of files to your HD?
;-( I dragged a pdf onto the desktop from the Internet. W
hen I right click I am not given the option "open with"
only "open", and then it opens in Media Player. The only other opetion to save
Thank you for trying to help, but this is a bit daunting.
I did drag a pdf to the desktop, but it will not give me the options you described.
I don't think I will be able to get any assistance from Adobe. If anyone else is reading this and has an idea please tell me. I do have Windows 7 64 bit.

That wouldn't be how you do this.
Find a link to a pdf, right-click on the link and choose to save the file. Save it to your desktop THEN you right-click and chose open with...etc.
