I downloaded a book into ADE and it shows up as reading.  However, when I go to look for it in the library, it's not there.  I need it in the library so I can load it into my Kobo.  Can you help?

What's happened is that you OPENed the book instead of SAVEing the book.

It's on your hard drive, and you can get it to appear in the ADE library, or

transfer it to your Kobo ereader directly.

The ebook 'should' be located in your DigitalEditions folder (Windows PC).

If you're OK with the technology, you could use Windows Explorer to do the

work:

1. Start Windows Explorer, and click on 'My Computer'. Windows Explorer

will display all of the drives.

2. Plug in your Kobo, and make sure that Windows recognizes it as a hard

drive. Windows Explorer will show the Kobo ereader as a drive letter.

3. Use Windows Explorer to open the Adobe Digital Editions folder on your

C: drive, and find the ebook title. It iwll be displayed in the right hand

panel.

4. Right-click on the title, and choose 'Copy to folder' from the drop-down

menu.

5. Pick the Kobo ereader drive letter in the left-hand panel, and click on

it. Windows Explorer will copy the ebook to the ereader.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for you help.  However the title does not show up in the ADE folder.  It is there only as manifest.  Any ideas?

There are a couple of things you can try.

Open the book in Reading mode, and go to the last page, then page to the

'next' page. ADE will think you've finished reading the book, will close it

in Reading mode and put it in the Library.

If you feel comfortable with Windows Explorer, do a Search for the file name

that's the same as the .xml. Then, when you know where the file is, you can

open ADE in Library mode. A small arrow appears next to the word

'Library'. Click on that arrow, and a drop-down box will open up. Choose

'Add Item To Library' from that list, and use the 'Browse' feature on the

window that appears, and locate the book from the information you have.

Then, pick that title (click on it and it will appear in the 'Name' box) ,

and choose 'Open'. Voila!

Hope this helps!

Yikes, so I went to the last page in the read view but ADE did not close it and did not save it in the library.  I searched Windows Explorer and found the .xml. However, when I went to add it to the library, it didn`t show up.  I had moved it to My documents to make it easy to find but it isn`t there when I try to add it.  Sorry to be such a pain, any other suggestionsÉ

Look on the base level of your hard drive (like c:/) and see if it's been

placed there by ADE.

Otherwise, I'm stumped! The sequence I suggested always worked for me....
