Hyperlink - size of bounding box

My situation calls for the need to have very percisely positioned and sized hyperlinks. Lets say I have an image hyperlinked, in this case its a special link to a file. Which I then export to PDF. The hyperlink bounding box actually draws with about a 4 pixel padding around it. This means that the program I am using to view the PDFs in, does not draw the file it is linking to, flush to where it should. I am wondering if anyone has ever noticed this, or if there is a setting/fix out there for it.

Note that saving the hotspots out in something like Preivew does not add this border.

It would be great if anyone could help.
