I'm having some trouble with footnotes when creating a book in InDesign CS5, and I'm wondering if someone could help me figure this out. I'll try to explain this as best I can.
I am working on formatting a book, and I want to place a quote in a textbox, with the footnote for this quote to be located at the bottom of the main textbook, which is behind the quote-box. I have tried simply copy and pasting the quote into the box, but the footnote comes with and sits very awkardly at the bottom of the quote. I have also tried moving the quote into a table, but the footnote link breaks.
Is there a way to do this? I would rather not have to manually set up a superscript number and then a box at the bottom with the reference information, as the author does have quite a few of these.
Put the "real" footnote marker someplace else and change the color to none, then manually add a superscript marker to fake the position in your pull quote.
