Kumar, do you know where you can download or demo the QTP software?
I tried to find it on HP's website but was un-successful
Have they changed it's name or moved it? I really want to check out QTP but it seems like it does not exist anymore??? That cant be true!! Help?
Also, Kumar, what did you think of Flex Monkey? Does it do "record" and "playback" type of tests?
You can download the trial version of QTP from http://www.softwaretestingnet.com/2010/01/hp-quicktest-professional-100-qtp-10.html
Regarding Flex monkey, yeah it is more of record playback, so you wont have that much freedom to customize your code. If you can get QTp then i think it would solve your problem.
Do let me know if you need any other information
Thank you Kumar!
The link you posted is not the direct download. There is a link to download using this:
^ That does not work. It puts you on HP's website, which is an endless sea of marketing web pages. I cannot find a download link anywhere.
It's almost like QTP no longer exists at HP, or they have renamed it and bundled it into a different software package suite.
I am still trying to find this...Any ideas? Cheers!
i'd say you can forget about QTP, it sux miserably when used against projects built on SDK 4.5. so far we had two major fails with QTP:
1) no way to get datagrid cell data (plus QTP would unpredictably crash when working with datagrids);
2) in order to access a certain component you need to know full path to it (like "container1.container2.yourComponentId")
we're looking at FlexMonkey right now, but i've got doubts
what doubts do you have about FlexMonkey?
I give up on QTP. I cant even find an install for it. Waste of time.
i've heard FlexMonkey is also not so mature on SDK 4.5, but i'm actually looking into that right now, so in few days i will be able to say more.
