    Instructional Design Specialist Job Opportunity




      Working under general direction and in collaboration with education colleagues, assess educational needs and constraints, and proposes cost-effective, innovative methods for achieving adult education objectives within constraints and preferences. Designs, develops and implements educational materials in a multi-media format for the various educational programs for field sales and service personnel, leveraging technology as an alternative or supplement to traditional in classroom or online slide-based curricula for both initial and continuous education. Remains current in evolving best practices in adult education and the application of technology for adult education. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Exercises judgment in planning, organizing and performing work. Monitors and measures impact of efforts, and reports status to manager. Assures that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements. Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise. Works collaboratively and creatively with key stakeholders to address internal customer needs.

      Requirements/Education: Bachelors degree in instructional design from an approved teacher training program or equivalent with a typically minimum of five years relevant experience. Must be able to apply the fundamental concepts and practices to conduct needs assessment and have the demonstrated ability to develop effective teaching plans and instructional materials. Must possess demonstrated personal computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent required) in graphics, word-processing, databases, authoring programs, etc., to develop presentation materials. Possesses or gains a working knowledge of learning management systems to ensure that any program designed is compatible with our system. Must have demonstrated written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, analytical, organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines as well as the ability to train all levels of students. Evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity required. Desired Requirements: An advanced credential in a relevant discipline/concentration. Professional certification or designation. Relevant teaching experience and familiarity with learning management systems a strong plus.
