Does Windows recognize your connection? (Have you ensured you're using FireWire and not USB?)
Can you capture with Windows MovieMaker or the free download WinDV?
Thanks Steve. Am definitely using Firewire. Should mention
am also in Windows 7. Just downloaded Windows Movie Maker 2.6 and still
won't import....In Prem Elements
9 everything seems to open, including Import Window and Recored button, just
nothing happens! (Should I see the csamera in My Computer when connected??)
Thanks for your help.
You are a (5)STAR..!! Thank you so much. I follwed your links and changed the 1394 Driver to the 'Legacy' one and BINGO!! I have imported Video from my DV Camcorder at last. THANK YOU!
Glad that worked for you... I can't claim that I found that fix, I just put the link in my Adobe.txt notes file (file keeps growing!)
I haven't looked to see if that information is in the FAQ - but it should be!
Added - it is now!!!
I did an ARTICLE in Tips & Tricks some time back (about the point that Harm Millaard brought the Legacy driver issue to my attention), but do think that a FAQ entry would be useful too. That tip has helped many Win7 users.
Thanks, guys. I've posted a FAQ entry using the content from Bill's article.
John, thanks for taking the initiative and adding a FAQ yourself. But I wanted to add one with the full instructions rather than a link to other threads.
Grin... whatever works to help people with Win7
Like I said... no credit to me for the original work, I just made note in my help file
You guys are great!
