I have a HP Media Center PC with Widows XP. I am trying to burn a DVD for play on TV. I made a slide show in Photoshop Elements 6.0 and started to burn the DVD from there. After it had gone a short time I remembered that the Pan shots I made would not work if the burned the DVD from there so I cancelled it. I tried to sent it to Premiere Elements 4.0 and got the message that the importer reported a generic error. I haven't any idea what that means. I Googled the problem and there are some hits for generic error, but none with my programs. HELP!
OK, are you doing the SlideShow in PSE, and then sending it to PrE for authoring?
What are the pixel x pixel dimensions of your still images?
As Bill says, the first thing you'll need to do is ensure the photos are no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
You also may have corrupted your work by stopping midway through.
To get around this, do a Save As and save your Premiere Elements project file to a new folder in another location. Then render your DVD.
This way the new render files won't get corrupted by the old.
