You can use the native player within ios using the stagewebview class:
var webView:StageWebView = new StageWebView();
webView.stage = this.stage;
webView.viewPort = new Rectangle(0,0,stage.stageWidth,stage.stageHeight);
var fPath:String = new File(new File("app:/MyMovie.mp4").nativePath).url;
webView.loadURL( fPath );
Publish it and test on ipad, dont forget to attach the video file with the package.

Yeah! you can do with flv component too, use AIR 2.7.
