    Hidden SSI in form tag, problems with code

    dhenss
      I have a form where I would like to capture the users IP address. To do this I am using an SSI request. The problem that I am having is structuring the code so that it will be hidden in the form. I have tested the SSI and it works with out a hitch. The code that is causing the probelms is:

      <td width="168"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><input TYPE="HIDDEN" name="ipaddress" value="<!--#echo var="REMOTE_ADDR" -->">First Name:</font></td>

      When looking at the page in design mode I see:

      ">Frist Name:

      and when I preview the page I see the same.

      When the page is viewed from the site and the form is submited the SSI request does not work either.

      What am I doing wrong?

      Thanks for all the help in advance.

          You know how useless this is, right?
