Error 1402 Could not open key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Installer

      Hi all,

Running Windows 2003 SP2 Terminal Server and receiving this error when trying to uninstall / install adobe reader and acrobat. Originally had Acrobat 8.0.1 and Reader 9.3 installed and users started receiving errors relating to Acrobat. When I tried to uninstall I received the error above.

I have tried everything I can find on the net and in these forums including:

      • Using control panel to uninstall - no deal
      • Re-install Acrobat
      • Checking / changing registry permissons including checking owner, replacing inherited perms etc
      • Deleting and recreating the reg entries
      • Using subinacl
      • Using Windows Install Cleanup
      • Manual removal.

I now have uninstalled reader (cleanly) and acrobat however I am still receiving this error when trying to reinstall reader. The permissions are correct so im really stuck. If I cant sort this out I will have no option but to build a new TS machine and I really dont want to do that just because Adobe Reader has buggered my registry permissions.

      Any thoughts/ideas greatfully accepted ....
