Scott Falkner Jun 27, 2011 10:49 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)3 things,
- What version of Illustrator are you using on what OS? ALWAYS tell us the version you are using. We cannot help you if we don’t know what version you have.
- Your subject line says the image is a PNG but the text of your post says it’s a PSD. Which is it?
- Post a screen shot. A picture of your problem is worth a thousand words.

Mylenium Jun 27, 2011 11:44 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)To which PDF spec was it created? You might simply need to change the spec. if that is not an option and you are bound to a specific print spec, I guess it's time to revisit the stuff and deal with teh flattening/ trapping correctly inside AI by adjusting the appearance settings...

medicineheads.no Jun 29, 2011 9:17 AM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Hi
personally I would check the psd to see if there may be a a 1 pixel semi-transparent edge. This would show up in the pdf but not necessarily other places.

Monika Gause Jun 29, 2011 9:37 AM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Might be an anti-aliasing and monitor-related problem.
In the Acrobat options deselect the anti-aliasing (Smooth) options and see if the white line is still there.

5. Re: White Outline Around Placed Transparent .PNG
ClarkeGraves Oct 15, 2012 10:20 AM (in response to Mylenium)PDF preset /2008 eliminates this issue. I always use 2001 for compatibility but with 2001 and 2004 the white outline appear. 2008 however and its gone.
Thanks!
