Unfortunately, as of now, there is no possibility to call native Android or IOS APIs directly from a Flex/AIR mobile application. There have been some experiments carried out by James Ward that you might want to check out (http://www.jamesward.com/2011/05/11/extending-air-for-android/).
These are Android specific and I don't believe I've ever seen something similar done with IOS. Please take into consideration that the above approach is in no way a standard usage of the tools and is completely unsuported by Adobe.
It is possible however, that Adobe provides native extensions support to future versions of AIR. The AIR for TV profile already supports these type of extensions, so its a definite possibilite for other platforms.

Can an Adobe employee please verify whether they will be supporting native extensions? (Could we get really lucky and get a delivery version/date estimate too?). This is a particularly important feature for quite a lot of us, there have been several threads over several forums that I have seen.
It's always going to be the case that the official Flex / AIR APIs won't have complete support for the latest native APIs, and many of us have business demands that require we can implement those shiny-new features. Right now the biggest one for my company is in-app purchases for iOS, but just imagine when iOS 5 drops.
Thank you for your response and reactivity.
I feel a little desapointed about this "restriction", but I realize the complexity of developping a tool which works with all the mobiles platforms.
i have same problems. I can't save image on device from application. How did you do it?
