Keyboard Customization > Application > Maximize or Restore Frame
In CS5, this shortcut serves to maximize the panel that falls under the mouse pointer, regardless of whether it is active or not.
Thanks I found it!
But now I am wondering if I am doing this correct... When you change or add the KC (keyboard customization), if you just hit ok, it doesn't seem to save it.
Do I SAVE AS? If I keep going in and tweeking it,I notice it always brings up [custom] vs. the one I saved: MB. Do I need to save as and over ride it each change? Does it always bring up custom? Can I set it to bring up MB? Thanks

Yeah, that annoys me too. I've asked multiple times for a simple "Replace" or "Update" option in the Keyboard Customization dialog. Sadly, CS5.5 doesn't have this either. The solution is to hit "Save As" and then give your KB preset the same name as your original, e.g. "MB." Premiere will prompt if you want to replace that existing preset, which you do. The settings should stick then.
While you're tweaking your keyboard shortcuts, assign a keyboard shortcut to launch the Keyboard Customization dialog; that'll make it much quicker to get into the dialog while you're learning what shortcuts you want/need.
PS: Hold down Control and Shift when you launch the Keyboard Customization dialog from the Edit menu; that will add a button labeled ">>Clipboard" that, when clicked, will copy all commands and their assignments to the clipboard. You can then paste it into a text document for future reference.
Got it! Yes, I did set up the KC shortcut already - thanks (love any tips/tricks I can get!) I didn't know about the cntrl+shift - clipboard tip NICE! How do you set up markers? I am going to start using the Encore markers and dynamic link to Encore. (I've always exported and then imported) I am trying to set up shortcuts for the markers.
Maximize shortcut doesn't seem to work when the panel you want to maximize is on a second display (after undocked) in CS6.
I split PP in 2 displays: left: Project, Effects... panels; right Source and Program panel + timeline.
I don't remember if it was working in CS4 but I do remember I had some way to maximise it - just can't remember how ( I think it was with display settings...which is not available in CS6 anymore).
Anyone can help?
