Working in ID CS5. I have a book with multiple chapters set with automatic page numbering. Pages up date between chapters correctly, but within a chapter the consecutive page numbers may not -- for example, the pages may go 101, 102, 103 104, 114, 115. Hiw do I get (force) InDesign to auto number the pages within a chapter without jumping page numbers? Some chapters there is no problem, others have the issue. All chapters are set to auto page numbering, and all the chapters are in an InDesign "book".
Is there more than one section in the chapters that have a problem? If so, you may have the new section set to start at a particular number.
I have not broken the chapters into sections on purpose. When I check
the Numbering & Sections Options box there are no section markers.
But, it is acting like the chapters are in sections. I have never
used the sections options -- do not know how to. Is there a way to
get InDesign to display any section markers?
That was it. Some how I had inadvertently started a new section --
don't know how I did it, but I determined how to eliminate it,and now
every thing page numbers as it should.
Thank you again,
