    Flex and Access

      Hi,

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I am wondering if it's possible ot hook up Ms Access and Flex. How do I access the database through Flex ?....I don't need the code, but I would need some pointers to help me get started.

      Thanks!

You can't directly hook Flex to any database. Flex is meant to be the presentation tier in a multi-tier web application. As such you have easy ways to access web services or make http requests. Flex data Services (an additional license) would give you access to Java j2ee. There are also some open source options in this space. Another option is to write you database access in Java and create web service binding with a tool like xFire.

Also remember that Flex is not allowed to access local resources on the local pc. However Apollo (a local runtime for Flex) will allow this. I'm not sure if Apollo will have direct database implementation or not. Check out Adobe Labs for
