Don't do 50p
I don't have a link handy, but I have read about problems with trying to edit 50p footage... solution is to use 50i
Don`t do 50p?! That´s not an option for me.
With 50i I loos halfe of my vertical resolution because of deinterlacing in the final output - does not make sense to me, to have a full HD camera and degrade to 50% of the resolution.
Funny thing: It works when I set the camera from PCM audio to Dolby Digital.
So that´s a workarround in the moment, but I wish, Adobe would look into this.

PCM audio in AVCHD MTS has been historically a little problematic with Premiere Pro. Everything was working fine (I use AF100 footage with PCM audio), but this Sony stuff is new enough that it probably was not around for testing and implementation in CS5.5. I'm assuming you're talking about CS5.5--I can't find an FS100 clip at this rate with this audio format to test.
If it is CS5.5 you're working with, be sure to report a bug: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form. If you can, prepare a short clip with PCM audio that you can send to the engineering team--they will undoubtedly contact you if you outline the problem and say that you have a sample to test.

Well, one reasons is that you can't deliver 1080p/50 for broadcast or Blu-ray. You'll be limited to web or computer playback with those specs.
