Trying to apply a cross-dissolve transition to non-Video 1 tracks

      Hi all,

      I'm using Premeire 6 on a Windows 7 machine.

Is there is a lesson anyplace that anyone can refer me to about applying a  cross-dissolve transition (aka cross-fade) to non-Video 1 track clips?

I can  only find info in the built-in web browser instructions and in the PDF  instruction manual about applying transitions to Video 1 clips with a  transitions track... that method I do understand, but I'm trying to put a transition between two NON-VIDEO 1 TRACKS... like between track 2 and track 3, NOT between tracks 1a and 1b.

Someone said I should "taget the track" first, but once I target a track by clicking on the Video 2 track to make it light gray, I still don't have a transitions track that shows up... there is still no  place to put the transition.

Another helper said I should use the transparency rubber bands to fade one clip out and the other in, but when I open my video 2 track by clicking on the triangle to display the  "Display Opacity Rubberbands" check box, it is red with a cross through  it and it doesn't do anything when I click on it... it is disabled.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to solve any of these conflicts I'd sure appreciate it.

      Thanks,
