Converting MS Publisher Files to FrameMaker 9

Hi all,

I'm trying to save a client some time and money by automating conversion of (a ton of) MS Pub files to FM9.

I can try RTF and HTML as the conversion format, but was hoping for a plugin, etc. that my searches didn't uncover.

Anyone had (any) success in converting?

I have not heard of this requirement before. But I guess RTF could be a way.

If you open them in FrameMaker you would need to somehow apply paragraph and character formats (as I guess there are none in the sources). File > Utilities > Create and Apply Formats.
Next I would copy the content of the text flow into blank documents based on the new FrameMaker template.
This would be followed by another routine (script, plug-in) that changes those generated names into the format names of your template.

This would be my rough migration architecture, does it sound reasonable?

Yes, I expect that is the way to go.

Client is already using Rick Quatro's script for renaming. We plan on leveraging his exceptional FrameScript skills on this project as well.
