I have the same query. My problem is that the Setup page offering to change Destinatio Folder never appears. After offering to Download (first window) it goes immediately to a window with a black background with a progress bar until reporting the installatiom complete - on my 'C' Drive!!! It can't stay there, - what can I do?
Is this the first installation of Adobe Reader on the system?
Thanks for that wstoll - but as muggle user confirms, this option view does not appear at any point during the download process on my system. So my problem remains sadly. Maybe another PDF Reader but I really wanted the Adobe utility...
Hi Bernd - no, not exactly. I had cleaned up my C drive and uninstalled Adobe Reader thinking that I could simply download it again, but this time, onto my E Drive. And that's where I've had to stop because of this problem!
Hi, and thanks for the reply.
On my first attempt to download AR 10 I was already using version 9, but
deleted it first using Windows XP SP3 Add/Remove. I have since attempted 4
uninstalls and 3 new downloads.
I assume you are downloading the Reader using the download manager, aren't you.
Just download the EXE or the MSI installer from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/ and execute e.g. either of the following files:
Then you should be able to change the destination folder...
Excellent - that did the trick!
Obviously the separate installer was causing the trouble. When I downloaded
the exe file in installed like a dream, asking where the files should be
placed. All is now well.
Very many thanks for your help.
