Data merge would probably be the best solution based on your description.
It worked! But it raises another issue. I merged the text (say with 10 names in Excel) with my first document page in ID. It worked well and I created 9 more pages with the remaining names. But, then I lost partial control of the text boxes with the names - or when I change the style of the text boxes with names - it also reflects on all names, which is great, but when I move the text box in the master-page - on my ten files the text box moves as well but as an empty one and the filled one with the name stays on its place.
Can you help on that?

Are you saying you put the fields on a master page? No need. Put them on the live page.
I am placing the fields the live page or the first and only live page, so as not to have doubles and so on. So, yes, I am doing that and not on the master. I also tried on the master but it did not work out.
Here is what I do: I select the source data ad it pops up well in the panel.
Next, I drag the data field from the panel to the first live page on the required tex box.
It works well, but kind of strange. So when I do that - I can see the 10 names inserted in the required text boxes of the 10 live pages.
Then I decided to check if I have all funcionality (since yesterday I learned how to do that - be able to change the style and position of the text boxes from the master). I changed from the master the style of the names and they changed perfectly. But when I moved the textbox on my master page this effect showed on the live cards - it seems that by merging I have created a copy of the textbox with the new merged data, because when I move the textbox from the master page - on the live pages I see the box has moved but empty and there is the box with the word on the old spot. So now there are two boxes...
Thanks for the video.
I am still puzzled though, since I would like to merge the data but to also be able later to move the box with the data to a new position or maybe change the style. Normally the position and style of the box moves well when I move it from the master page. I need this since I would have plenty of doc pages. But with merging I am loosing control of being able to move later the box.
Watching this video, it says that by merging, you create a new document, so maybe then you lose the connection with the master page, which brings the question, why then can I change the style and why when I move the box from the master page - the actual empty box also moves on my live pages, but the "names" box now appears as a separate box on the old position.
OK, I did it once again and this time the box moved correctly.
I have no idea what happened before - I did the same thing...
Thank you very much for your help. It all looks great now. You have been very helpful!
God bless you.
