MichaelKazlow Jul 7, 2011 1:58 PM (in response to Lynette789)Can you open pdfs directly on your computer? Is your Windows 7 32 or 64-bit? If 64-bit can you open the pdfs in MSIE if you use it in 32-mode?

Lynette789 Jul 7, 2011 3:31 PM (in response to MichaelKazlow)Thanks for your reply. I resolved the issue by uninstalling Reader X and
installing Reader 9. 9 works great. I have 32 bit Window 7.

SuperScirocco Aug 17, 2011 7:12 AM (in response to Lynette789)Locked up Reader X every time after opening a pdf. Simply closed Reader X is all.
Windows XP Professional SP3 used, and pdfs usually created using Firefox 5 plugin.
What just worked was to roll Adobe Reader X back to the original release 10.0.
In preferences only had to specify - set resolution, etc, and set internet connection speed: STILL not automatic.
Latest update v. 10.1 June 14, 2011. release notes http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708.html
Not sure if I had that or v.10.0.3 installed earlier.
Note: If only install XP SP3 updater, that alone will replace the previous 100 security updates since SP2.
