1. Re: combining alpha chanel paths into a singel alpha chanel?
tfkelly42 Jul 7, 2011 2:56 PM (in response to SF Ellen)Are your "outline" path and "hole" path saved as seperate paths? if so you could combine them together by copying and pasting the "hole" path in to the "outline" path. Once you have them combined load a selection from this path and you can create a channel.

SF Ellen Jul 7, 2011 3:00 PM (in response to tfkelly42)hm....in some cases, yes, but in some cases I also made use of the magic wand tool to create the selection, so there is no path at all...?

3. Re: combining alpha chanel paths into a singel alpha chanel?
SF Ellen Jul 7, 2011 3:05 PM (in response to tfkelly42)Let me rephrase that. When I go into paths, I only 'see' one path, even if there
are several. Am I doing something wrong?

..Do you mean several different named paths within the paths panel (a screen shot of your paths panel would be useful)
Only one named path can be assigned as the clipping path so the outline and cutout information should be contained in a single path in the paths pane. Once the path is OK convert this in to a channel as I described earlier - load the path as a selectction then save the selection as a new channel.

6. Re: combining alpha chanel paths into a singel alpha chanel?
Mike Ornellas Jul 7, 2011 9:56 PM (in response to SF Ellen)Load the selction of one path/channel and delete the contents from the slection in the desired alpha channel.
If you are trying to combine two paths just copy one path with the direct selection tool, by selecting the entire object and then paste it into the destionation path.
