I have a Website that I can use text-shadow and text-outline with for the logo (to spruce it up). The client would like the logo to be in text as it would draw in search engines nicely. I have made an image for the logo so that IE will be happy, but I don't know how to hide the text for IE.
I tried using this code:
<!--[if lte IE 9]>
Now the image shows up in IE, but the text shows over it. How do I hide the text for IE? Or is that even possible?
I "Googled" this question as well and found a bit of a work-around:
I added this:
...to the previous code, and it worked, but is it "acceptable"? Or is it considered "bad practice" to Google as it is a "hidden" text?
The negative text-indent is perfectly acceptable, just make sure your image has an alt description for accessibility.
