Hmm... no, not within the application itself. This drives me mad, too. But you got me thinking--there might be a way to cheat. What OS are you using?
In the meantime, this would be a good feature request--probably for a user-configurable choice: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form
Stephen, I so agree with this.
In Audition and FCP it works the correct way too. Pr Pro just feels all wrong and it's doing my head in.
The software is great to use, but the zoom is incredibly confusing, considering all the other applications I've used in the past all work correctly.
I can only hope that they don't start changing things like Apple did with the reversing of the track pad in Lion. bad move there in my books (just one reason why I don't need to upgrade).
I was looking for that fix also. The best option I have it to use an apple mouse with the scroll ball on it. Then you can move right and left and it will go in and out. RIGHT = IN, LEFT = OUT. It's much nicer. Also I realize this post is very very very old. Sorry for the delay.
This has been fixed in CS6. Not sure if it's configurable, but it's the reverse of what it used to be so at the least the default operation is identical across the apps.
