Gernot Hoffmann Jul 13, 2011 4:12 AM (in response to simpson246)Put the artwork on one or more layers, define the cutting path
in an additional layer and export as PDF with layers (with at
least two layers then).

Monika Gause Jul 13, 2011 12:52 PM (in response to simpson246)I can image a dozen ways to draw a car (to keep this simple). So it would be interesting what kind of car you have drawn. Please show us.

5. Re: Help preparing a design so that it can be cut on a plotter.
simpson246 Jul 13, 2011 1:11 PM (in response to Monika Gause)Sorry, i didnt make it very clear.
Im just talking about a vehicle drawing in general, well in fact just an image in general.
I was wondering the kind of techniques i would have to go through to remove colour, add lines etc so that a drawing goes all the way to outlines that can be cut out on a plotter.
many thanks indeed

7. Re: Help preparing a design so that it can be cut on a plotter.
[Jongware] Jul 13, 2011 1:42 PM (in response to Monika Gause)Regardless of the drawing, it strikes me as odd to ultimately save it as BMP, no less. That's a bitmap format (and a poor choice, as it is), and it's not likely Dr. Stika or any other physician can stitch it together to get a vector again.

8. Re: Help preparing a design so that it can be cut on a plotter.
simpson246 Jul 13, 2011 1:53 PM (in response to [Jongware])Thats for the replies.
Dr Stika only openes its own format and .BMP.
So what i have done is open the logo in illustrator, export it as a .BMP, and then import the design in Dr . Stika.
This worked for my logo design and seems to be the only way to do it.
If there is any other ways, i'd love to hear them although with my logo, this way did work well.
many thanks,
regards,
Ryan
