The fix for this isn't just to uninstall and reinstall. The fix is to uninstall, run the cleaner script, reboot, and then reinstall.
Yes, even though the third-party codecs are included in the trial version, they're still installed and managed by a separate component. There is a bug in that component that causes it to fail in some cases, and the fix is to basically go back to zero and try again. Running the cleaner script is part of that process.
Yeah, I had skipped that step because I figured there was nothing to "clean" as this was a completely fresh install. Hadn't actually done any work in the program yet. But at any rate, I followed the steps as you describe and I've still got the same problem. Note that this is the Master Collection and not Premiere by itself; I don't know if that makes a difference. Should I unistall the entire thing and then clean?
