    Audition consultant or audio service?

    gishnetwork Community Member

Hope this doesn't offend anyone - this is coming from someone who is new, is and wants to learn, but doesn't have the experience yet to relate to what he is doing - what is possible - and what a season expert might do instead.

      So....

Does anyone know of any Audition experts that have free time are willing to assist in paid Q&A to help with specific problems?

Does anyone know of any service where you can send a wav and request that the expert fix the audio? You know, request something like "Remove hum and hiss, bring up the mids, bring down the highs, declip?

Many times I am fixing audio, and not being an expert, I have no idea if I have done the best job I can do in the program unless I have the same file fixed by en expert. For example, noise reduction - I think I did pretty good - the best I can see how to in Audition, but maybe an expert might do it twice as good - how would I know unless I had access to an expert, right?

I think someone could make a lot of money in a upload file, request fixes, preview and pay kind of business. For many small time folk, what an expert can do in an hour, myself might take 10 hours and I'd still never even know if I could have easily done something better.

Interesting idea, but I get the depressing feeling that the people who'd have the time aren't necessarily the ones you'd want working on your audio! And I'm also not convinced there's that much money in it, either.

There are other approaches though. On AudioMasters we have a Recordings Showcase forum where people can post clips of things they're having difficulty with, and we have several people available who can listen to them, and advise as necessary. And that doesn't cost anything. People can tell you what they did, you get to listen to the results, and they'll tell you what settings they used. We think that's really a win-win - you get the help you need, and hopefully you learn things into the bargain.

Very interesting idea and probably one that could be developed into a business.

If you want to email me, please do.  I have no problem fixing a WAV for you free of charge to see if the service is useful to you.

Others gave great answers, just need to add this just in case: you can post job on established marketplaces like odesk.com, guru.com  or elance.com
