    How can I make Adobe x to be set up properly?

      I have Windows XP and installed Adobe x. The program run great until I turned off the computer, after restarted it I tried opening  a PDF file clicking on it, it didn't work then I clicked using the right button selecting Adobe from the drop down list, it was at the head of it. When I made a click on it,  It sent me to the 

      window "Select an Application " but Adobe X is not listed there. But if I open the "Add or Uninstall window " Adobe X is listed.

      If I click on the desktop  the Adobe X Icon, a message with AcroRd32.exe (The direct access has been changed) pops out. (Maybe the Icon is

      The path is C/PROGRAM FILES/ COMMON FILES/ADOBE

      Any information about the matter will be highly appreciated.
