UPDATE: Install new Folio Builder panel

and I really welcome the new way of distributing the authoring tools.

let us look how this turns out this time and lets hope for Apple to have a

quicker look in the viewer.

I was unable to login to the Folio Builder panel today and saw this post so updated the to 1.1.2 but I have still been unable to login. I have tried on both my work PC and personal Mac both using CS5. It was working yesterday & today I have been able to login to the Content Viewer on my iPad and could view the changes I made yesterday.

Sorry, not sure if there was an anticipated outage due to the upgrade?

Hi Ally,

There was an outage during the upgrade last night, but the system is up and fully operational now.  Your inability to log in after the update is something that should be investigated.  If you want to send me your contact info offline and a screen capture of the panel in the sign in state we can try to assess what is going on for you.  Please send this for both Mac and Win.

I can't sign in to the new Folio Builder either. All it does is throw up this message:

"An error has occurred while communicating with the server. Could not test Folio Builder and server compatibility. Please check your network connection and try logging into the panel again."

Obviously my network connection is fine because you are reading this. How can I persuade it to let me sign in?

Now the error window has been replaced with a curt message in red text in the Sign In window, reading: "Sign in failed. Please try again."

I do but it won't.

And now it's gone back to the previous "An error has occurred..." message window.

I can't say I like being locked out of my own publications. What if I was on deadline?

Why dont you shoot me an email with a screenshot of the error you're seeing in the Folio Builder panel and if you're using CS5/5.5 and I'll try to figure out what the problem is. I'm one of the engineers at Adobe and my email address is nkrishna@adobe.com.

Bugger, I dont have admin rights on the machine. It's the weekend now and won't be able to update until next week. Are you saying that it won't be possible to publish folios with out the upgrade. Really need to work the weekend.

I have just installed the new Folio Builder panel

But when I try to view the articles in content viewer, I recieve errors like, the article has a different resolution size, (which it does not) and a error on
can't find indd file, which is in the same location since I created the folio, today.

Will it be possible to add hyperlinks on pictures in scrollable content? or is it just on text?

OK, I've done this.

To test what's happening for sure, I have uninstalled and re-installed time and time again, step by step. Here's what I get:

1. install Digital Publishing Suite: I can sign in to Folio Builder

2. install patch 1.0.1: I can sign in to Folio Builder

3. install patch 1.1.1: I can sign in to Folio Builder

4. install patch 1.1.2: I cannot sign in to Folio Builder

Here are the messages I get when I try to sign in with 1.1.2. It's always one or the other, at random.

On my Mac at home, I can sign in without problem. Could it be a firewall issue with the Windows computers at the office? If the sign-in system has changed, please tell me what Adobe has done so that I can communicate this to our IT support.

In the meantime, I have downgraded to 1.1.1 so that I can continue working with DPS.

I have the same problem while logging in into Folio Builder Panel 1.1.2 on a windows machine, getting the same "could not test connection" error.

Disabling the windows firewall does not help.

I also mailed nethra with a screenshot.

I've updated and have had no issues. I haven't worked on much since the update but I have tried reordering the articles and it seem to work fine. I have two free Acrobat accounts and am able to log into both. I'm not currently a subscriber, still reading the T&Cs.

Here are my specs:

InDesign CS5.5 (Version 7.5)

Apple OS 10.5.8

Yes, it works on Mac for me. It doesn't work on Windows.

Could you explain your screenshot within this post, Is the folio builder now available with tabbed multiple folios views.

In the screen shot you show articles A B C and so on in the folio builder, What are these within this example are they available in the new 1.1.2 update.

Vividi, my screenshot doesn't show any articles in Folio Builder 1.1.2 because it is not possible for me to sign in. The tabs that you can see are the other InDesign panels that I have in the same panel group, docked at the edge of my screen (Animation, Buttons, Object States, etc).

I'm seeing the same error message on a Mac 10.5.8, InDesign 5.5.

I installed the update yesterday and it seemed to be working. Is there a server problem?

It should work again, I think they are working on the servers right now.
