4. Re: Any way to trim multiple clips in CS5.5?
Colin Brougham Jul 22, 2011 7:18 PM (in response to JSS1138)Harm is correct, at least in terms of the OP's question: you can't adjust the edit points of multiple clips that reside in the same sequence track. Selecting two or more clips will lock out the trim/ripple/roll/etc. tools for all but the outermost clips, and even then, trimming those clips will affect only those clips. If, however, the clips are on different tracks, you can edit multiple edit points at once in a selection of clips.
You can change the durations of multiple clips in a single track in a different way, but it won't maintain their relative durations. Select the clips, and then right-click and select Speed/Duration. Click the Duration hot-text, and enter the value you want, and alternatively select the Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips option. This will set the durations of all selected clips to be the same; if one clip is 1 second and another is 5 seconds, and you set the duration to 3 seconds, both clips will be changed absolutely to 3 seconds.
Anyway, the first point would probably make a decent feature request; personally, I don't think I'd want that behavior all the time, but there are ways around that. Make a request here: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form
