I have a compostion with about a dozen animated text layers. I'm just starting out and have done a lot of messing around with their duration and keyframes.
In the timeline panel, at the bottom of some of the layers, is a thin dashed diagonal white line ending in a solid vertical line. This must indicate something but I don't know what.
Any help would be appreciated.
here's what I'm talking about; notice how in some layers the lines are not for entire duration?
curiouser and curiouser.
When you create a new layer, the layer has a defined starting point. Video footage has an obvious start and finish (unless it has been re-timed) but still footage items or solids may not be quite so obvious.
The hatched lines indicate you have extended the layer to the left of the first frame of it's defined starting point. Effectively, everything with the lines underneath occurs before the original "first frame" of the layer.
Now I know that those lines are a "Negative layer time indicator for still image layer".
