    Need help with linking complicated xml structure

    d_spd62

      Well.

      First of all, let me say that I`m not very good at english.

      My problem is that I cant understand what to do. I tryed to follow the tutorial next by link

      http://tv.adobe.com/watch/rich-internet-applications-101/ria-stepbystep-21-binding-a-data- service-to-flex-components/

      and didnt get any problem, everythin works perfect. But! I want to make some more complicated gallery with folder structure and list of images in it.

      my xml for example:

      <Gallery>

           <RFolder>

           <IMGFolder FDesc="%%description%%" folder="%%foldername%%" />

                <pictures>

                <FRImg location="%%filename%%" desc="%%description%%" />

                <FRImg location="%%filename%%" desc="%%description%%" />

                </pictures>

           </RFolder>

           <RFolder>

           <IMGFolder FDesc="%%description%%" folder="%%foldername%%" />

                <pictures>

                <FRImg location="%%filename%%" desc="%%description%%" />

                <FRImg location="%%filename%%" desc="%%description%%" />

                </pictures>

           </RFolder>

      </Gallery>
      Is there amy chance to link one data\service connection to work with such structure?
      How to read such structure to get the folder names in one page and pictures from this folder in other page?
      Do I need to reorganize my xml to be read right?
      Thank you.

          I would modify the xml to this structure:

          <RFolder FDesc="%%description%%" folder="%%foldername%%" />

          There is no need to add another node since the RFolder can have the attributes of the IMGFolder node.

          You probably will need to add some additional code with Flash Builder to get the functionality you are seeking. By adding a folder structure, you will need the code to set a filter when parsing the XML to properly display the picture sets.

          Good luck,

          Chris
