    Does the visible property work in content inside a scroll pane?

      I've searche google and theforum for a solution but I can't get mc._visible = false: or =true; to work inside a scroll pane. I have several tool tips placed on a movie clip that is referenced by the scroll pane. I want the tool tip to display on mouse over a hit area and disappear on mouse out. This code does not work:

        /******menu****/
      sp.content.menuTxt._visible = false;

            sp.content.menux.onRollOver = function()
            {
                   sp.content.menuTxt._visible = true;
                   sp.content.menux._alpha = 50;
            }

            sp.content.menux.onRollOut = function()
            {
              sp.content.menuTxt._visible = false;
              sp.content.menux._alpha = 0;
            }

      But if i move the movie clip to the main scene and use this code it works:

         /******menu****/
      menuTxt._visible = false;

            sp.content.menux.onRollOver = function()
            {
                 menuTxt._visible = true;
              sp.content.menux._alpha = 50;
            }

            sp.content.menux.onRollOut = function()
            {
                  menuTxt._visible = false;
              sp.content.menux._alpha = 0;

            }
      There are quite a few hit areas and tool tips in the movie clip and they are also movie clips. Am I hitting against a limitation? I did find some reference to the depth of movie clips in relation to the scroll pane but that was confusing.
