Download the trial version of After Effects CS5.5. Try it there.
Hi Todd. Talked the boss into buying CS5.5 upgrades yesterday. Still cannot preview audio of R3D clips in my timeline. The CTI moves, the Info panel says "playing audio", but there's only silence. There's also no prep phase that usually happens with normal audio files (slight pause as it builds a preview, then plays). It starts playing immediately when I press the "." AE must think the audio is already cached?
Is the audio working in Premiere Pro?
What kind of audio? Stereo?
From this other thread that you started, I can see that the audio is working in Premiere Pro:
Is the audio on the same tracks in each case?
After Effects is, to say the least, not an audio application. It picks up the first track of audio from a file with multiple tracks of audio. If that track is empty (and, say, the real audio is on track 2), then you'll get silence.
See this thread:
All the voice tracks are mono. There are a couple stereo music tracks too.
What's AE's logic in determining when a Premiere clip is split into separate audio and video layers and when its kept as single layer with audio and video?
