What s the best way that I can just simply have a load of txt and images that if to long for the mobile screen will then simply scroll, I have looked at richtextedit but apparently this is no good for mobile devices, I have looked at textarea but its not what I want as it doe not seem to allow images and that its got a fixed background colour i want to chaneg but cannot, also when clicking on it it brings up keyboard and a blue selcted glow which is not what I want, I have tried
StyleableTextField(contenttext.textDisplay).htmlText = "ddf." but this refuses to scroll and then also does not show image tags <img etc, so this seems to be what I do not want.
Any advice etc much appreciated
I think you will need to use a RichText component. I know it's not recommended for mobile, but if you need TLF functionality than there is no way around it. It is a bit bulky, but I've been able to get it to work in an iPad app with a decent user experience. Just try to avoid using a lot of them at once, and use bit map caching as needed.
hey! thanks for the reply will do, you'd think that they woudl offer a textfield solution for this and why use a textarea as this is an input type ahh!
I have been hitting a wall trying to get TextArea to display images and scroll as well, but you can simple set 'editable="false"' in the <TextArea> and set 'contentBackgroundAlpha="0"' to remove that ugly background. I will try the RichText component now. Hope that works!
